Excellent food. Lots of tofu options. I really like that you can swap out fish for tofu with any of the same preparations. Very reasonable prices. Lively atmosphere. Will definitely eat there again.

Saturday Happy Hour visit, not too busy. The Luau burger had well cooked pork, the sweet potato fries needed more flavor, and the Hawaiian ceviche was good. The server could've been more attentive.

We have been going to Hula's on High Street, usually twice a week, since shortly after they opened. The food has never disappointed and the atmosphere depends on the time and day you are there. It can be high energy, especially during happy hour, or it be cool and quiet during off times. We usually choose to sit at the bar, which happens to be an open, horseshoe design with the bonus of having one side exposed to the outside. Nothing says, "I should have sat at a table", like staring at a wall, and who doesn't want to experience the Arizona weather nine months of the year The staff is not only friendly, they are efficient and interactive, even when the place is hopping. On top of all this, the Mai Tai is out of this world.

Absolutely stellar experience- it was everyone’s first time and we all agreed that our meal was a 10/10. The cocktails were fantastic and surprisingly strong! The Blue Hawaiian and the Chocolate Piña Colada were a standout. Prices were great, portions were excellent (everyone had leftovers!) and our server (McKenna?) was incredible. We will definitely be back!

Pretty much outstanding in every way. The decor is excellent, the service was very responsive and kind, and the food is STELLAR. I had a chicken sandwich, my wife had the black bean burger, and my friend had one of the burgers. They also have delicious cocktails and mocktails! Every single thing tasted great, but surprisingly the black bean burger was literally one of the best that I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be returning here!

Category: Theme restaurant, fine food. Except for the bamboo-ish wainscoting below the bar, a couple of braided rope chandeliers, and the side room, you wouldn’t know you were in Tiki-land, but that’s probably why it’s called “Modern Tiki”. The upscale honey-colored wood paneling, tables, chairs, beams, and ceiling panels provide a warm, comfortable, unified feel in the well-lit dining rooms and bar. They keep the more traditional, but still lite, Tiki-ness in the subdued-light side room, with a thatched grass valance hanging from the ceiling around the perimeter, Gauguin-ish paintings, weathered wood, Polynesian masks, and woven wall hangings. We love the large C-shaped bar because we can people watch across the bar. We also like the long communal table in the front. Leather booths in the back are a more cozy setting. We also often enjoy the large patio that wraps the interior, which offers both sun and shade. The menu offers a broad selection of Tiki-ish starters and house specials (“Hula Favorites“), Asian-ish rice bowls and salads, fresh fish, burgers and sandwiches, and even Tiki-ish tacos. We have tried many things and everything is good. On our most recent visit with shared with two friends the ceviche, poke bowl, fish tacos, and edamame. All excellent, as was the service. Our friends say the Mai Tais are world class. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice

The parking lot was crowded, with many businesses packed into a small area and construction everywhere, leaving limited parking spots. Be ready to walk—we parked about a 5-minute walk away. The food was decent but not exceptional. Service was okay; we had to prompt the staff to take our drink order, or we might have been left with just water. The food arrived quickly—our appetizer was barely touched when the main dishes came out. Seasoning was minimal; the mac salad was bland, and the chicken lacked strong flavor. My Baja tacos were mostly cabbage with a small amount of fish. I’d return to try something else, as it wasn’t so bad that I’d avoid it.
